Shake, Spill, Roll, ENGAGING Math!!

Hey friends!! Katie from Pop into Primary here. What a busy school year it has been!! Anyone else?  As some of us Minnesota folk say...UFFDA this year is a whirlwind. But, I have definitely made time for some engaging, hands-on activities in my class this year. One thing we have LOVED is my Shake, Spill, Roll math pack. In this pack you will find four games....yes FOUR.
{Click on the pic to see this product in my store and read the reviews! :) }
1. A fact family/number bond game: This is where you "shake & spill" colored counters to create fact families! My students LOVE this.

2. Roll it three-digit addition: roll the dice, create a three-digit plus three-digit addition and practice those regrouping skills!

3. Roll it three-digit subtraction: same as the addition version, but students need to think a little bit and make sure they create a problem that is possible! {Without going into the negative numbers...because hey we are in 2nd grade!}

4. Place Value Roll: GREAT for those kiddos who need to practice ones, tens, and hundreds. Partners share a game board and take turns rolling the dice. They are trying to create the biggest number possible and have to choose which place value place to write each number they roll. Another big hit!

This game pack will be on sale for $1 for the next few days!!
Sweet dreams! Time to tuck myself in,
Have a great week! Katie

Spooky Math Games

Hi everyone! This is Rachel from 2nd Grade Rock Stars. Welcome back to Teacher Deals and Dollar Steals.  I hope everyone is back into the swing of things and you are having a great school year.  I can't believe that it is mid October!

I don't know about you, but my school REALLY CELEBRATES October 31st!  I know not everyone celebrates Halloween but my school goes all out, including a huge Halloween party on a Saturday.

These math games can be played throughout the year and will help your kiddos reinforce their math skills. When ever I pull out these games, my kids scream!  They just love the friendly ghosts or spooky characters.

For the next 3 days (October 16th through the 19th) I am putting my spooky math games on sale for ONLY $1!

First up are the Spooky Addition and Spooky Multiplication Scoot game. My kids love scooting around the room while practicing their addition or multiplication facts. What kid does not love getting up out of their seat??

Have your kids practice their multiplication facts by matching the equations with the haunted house.

My kids also love the ghosts in these two next games.

But grab them fast because they are only on sale through October 19th! After that, the games will go back to regular price.

 What are you waiting for??

Thanks for stopping by and saying hi,
Rachel

Numbers to 1,000 Task Cards

Hi everyone! I'm Rachel from 2nd Grade Rock Stars. I hope everyone is having a great beginning of a new school year or a great ending to your summer. Today I am bringing you some great dollar deals! I love using task cards in the classroom. They are so versatile and can be used as centers, small groups, or my favorite as Scoot games. Not only do I love task cards, but so do my kids. I have to tell you that math task cards have saved my life! I use them as Scoot games and in small groups. I also use them if my advanced learners finish a task early. My students know they can grab a set of task cards. I am putting a bunch of math task cards on sale for $1 for the next three days.
You can check out some other math task cards here. I will be putting some of my other math task cards on for $1 as well. Thanks for stopping by and saying hi, Rachel

Build the Biggest Ice Cream Cone Math Games

Hi everyone! I'm Rachel from 2nd Grade Rock Stars. I Hope everyone is having a relaxing beginning of the summer, or if you are like me...a relaxing (HA HA) end of the school year. I still have 10 days left until school ends here in New York.

Today I want to share 4 different math games that will be $1 for the next 3 days. I don't know about your kids, but my kids love playing math games and competing against each other. So with the summer in mind I am bring you 4 different math games with an ice cream theme.

My kiddos love my Build the Biggest Ice Cream Cone games. The objective of each game is to build the biggest ice cream cone. For each correct answer, the children get to add the scoop of ice cream to their cone. The biggest ice cream cone at the end of the game wins!

My second graders love picking up the ice cream cones and comparing heights of the ice cream cones. I learned quickly how upset they would get if the ice cream cone and scoops of ice cream fell apart, so I attached velcro to the ice cream scoops and cones.

Thanks for stopping by and saying hi.  Don't forget to come back tomorrow for another great dollar deal!

Math Games to End the Year

I don't know about you, but I'm in the HOME STRETCH of this school year!  Hi! It's Debbi from 3rd Grade Pad, and I'm bringing you a few math games to get your kids out of their seats and reviewing those tricky facts!

I really love letting my kids play "I Have, Who Has" games.
If you haven't tried this, I highly encourage you to try it!  It's super simple.

If you're ready to give it a shot, I'm offering two sets of my games that target those TRICKY MIDDLE FACTS!

See it in my store HERE
This set includes two sets of game cards.  One set requires the players to listen for the product.  Pretty straight forward.  What my kids really struggled with and had to THINK was with the giving the product and trying to think of what expression when with it!  You can certainly have two games going at once and let your high kids play the more challenging set, while those that are still trying to recall the products will get good practice.

See it in my store HERE
My division set is a smaller set of cards because it is harder to come up with enough combinations!  At any rate, I wanted  my kids to have practice there also.  This set works just like my multiplication set.  One set of cards is more straight forward by starting with the expression and kids recalling the quotient.  It gets more challenging with the second set trying to recall the combinations of numbers that can have a certain quotient!
I really like playing this one in small groups, since there aren't quite as many cards. It's a great warm-up game before we remediate/enrich a task.

That's it for me, y'all! Enjoy your sweet kidlets as we get closer to summer!  When I see you here next month, I will have been enjoying some poolside lounging, for sure!

Area and Perimeter!

Hello, it is Jamie from Diary of a Not So Wimpy Teacher.

Can I be very honest with you? Will you promise to keep my secret? Don't tell anyone...but I hate teaching area and perimeter to third graders. I absolutely adore teaching math! But area and perimeter are my exceptions. Telling time is something we use every day. You have to be able to count money. All four operations are used all the time in our daily lives. But area and perimeter? I only use it at school. I am required to teach area and perimeter, so I knew that I needed to find ways to make it fun. Anytime I have to do something hat I don't want to, I turn it into a game!

And that is how Area and Perimeter Party game was born!

A boring area and perimeter assessment is just not my style, so of course we have to do a scoot with task cards!

Although area and perimeter will never be my favorite skill to teach, these products make the task a little more fun for me and for my students. And the great news is that for the next three days I have discounted these products to just $1 each! Just click on the product picture above to take advantage of the great deal!
