Interactive Science Notebooks

Hi everyone! I'm Rachel from 2nd Grade Rock Stars.  I am super excited to be part of Teacher Deals and Dollar Steals and to bring you this fantastic dollar deal!

I have a secret... I DO NOT like science. There, I said it! I have never liked science or teaching science to my students.

So, I decided to try using interactive notebooks while teaching living and nonliving things. My kids were so excited when I brought out the different pages for them to work on. I mean, what 2nd grader doesn't like to glue and cut? The kids love to take their interactive notebooks home and color the pages. It also gives my students the chance to show off their work to their parents. It also made teaching science more interesting for me!

My kiddos worked hard on these pages of the Living Things Interactive Notebook.  They loved it and so did I!

My Force and Motion Interactive Notebook is also on sale for the next three days.

Thanks for stopping by and saying hi.  Don't forget to come back tomorrow for another great dollar deal!

Sight Word Fun- Pancake Flip Game

Hi Everyone,

If your kids are like mine, then any extra practice reading and writing sight words is always in order.

Here is a fun game where the kids use a real spatula to scoop up a pancake.  They read the word on the pancake, write the word on the recording sheet, then flip the pancake onto a plate.

Fry's 100 Sight Word Activity

This is perfect for pajama day or as a center activity.  You can put all the pancakes out at once, or add them to the center as you introduce the words to your class.

Fry Sight Words

This activity covers Fry's 100 word list and supports your Common Core Curriculum in a fun way.
And the best part is- you guessed it- it's only a dollar for the next few days!  So click on the picture or the link here to grab it now before the price goes back up.

My kids LOVE, LOVE, LOVE this center.  They practice both reading and writing their sight words over and over again, and they still love it.

Enjoy!

Self Portrait Templates from KinderIrick

I'm happy to be back blogging again with this great group of AMAZING teachers and I'm so happy to once again offer you an $teal!

Before writing this post I was thinking about what deal I was going to offer you this month and then I thought about what product I use all year long AND what product is one of my best sellers... and then I had it!  The PERFECT product for the start of the school year...

TA DA...

Introducing...

You will LOVE these!

These portrait templates have a million uses!  Ok, I might be exaggerating a bit, but really, once you have these, you will find a ton of things you can do with them!

I use them throughout the year for a variety of different things.  They are a great start as a base for kids to illustrate characters in literature.  They can be used for self-portraits.  Use them for art.  Use them for reading.  Use them for...  anything you can think of.  You are only limited by your imagination.

Since I teach Kindergarten, I like to slide one in a page protector and put it in a center with Play Dough.  The kids use the dough to add features.  (This is great for strengthening their fine motor muscles).

One of my friends teaches 3rd grade and her kids use them to illustrate characters in the stories that they are reading and writing.

I have seen them used to draw the presidents.  Another teacher used them to draw Martin Luther King, Jr.

I put them in my art center and the kids drew elves in December, Leprechauns in March, and even the tooth fairy.

My students use them to draw their parents, family members and friends. It gets even the most reluctant illustrator drawing like a pro.

I have some with borders and one plain one.

They are great for every grade level and they are on sale for the next 3 days.
Once you have these, you will wonder what you did without them!

And that's my deal for the month!

Science Interactive Notebook

Hi everyone! I'm Rachel from 2nd Grade Rock Stars.  I am super excited to be part of Teacher Deals and Dollar Steals and to bring you this fantastic dollar deal!

There are only 31 more days of school for me (I'm so jealous of those of you who are closer to the end of the school year!)and my kids were starting to get a glazed look in their eyes during science, which is so not my favorite subject.  You know that look...the glazed over, this is so boring look you get from your kids somedays.

So, I decided to try introduce interactive notebooks into my living and nonliving science unit. My kids were so excited when I brought out the different pages for them to work on. I mean, what 2nd grader doesn't like to glue and cut? The kids love to take their interactive notebooks home and color the pages. It also gives my students the chance to show off their work to their parents.

I Love Math Games!

Hi Everyone it's Emily from Emmy Mac's Class!

The snow coming down right now is really pretty. I'm only saying that because I'm inside and I don't live in Buffalo. We are expecting about 15 cm, so about 6 inches.

This month's Dollar Steal is my Fraction Slap it! If you are looking for a fun and active way for students to practice naming fractions. Then this is your game!

Kim from Splish! Splash! Mrs Lander's Class was super sweet for letting me use her pictures. Kim used my Dollar Steal in her classroom last year and the kids had so much fun.

What I love about math games is that students can play them independently, which frees me up to work with small groups!

To take a closer look at some of my other fraction games that Kim used in her class HOP on over to her page and check out her blog post!

If you are looking for other Dollar Deals check out the FestiveFriday. Type festivefriday in to TPT search engine to find other great Dollar Deals or click on the picture.

Thanks for checking out my Dollar Steal! See you next month!
