Interactive Science Notebooks

Hi everyone! I'm Rachel from 2nd Grade Rock Stars.  I am super excited to be part of Teacher Deals and Dollar Steals and to bring you this fantastic dollar deal!

I have a secret... I DO NOT like science. There, I said it! I have never liked science or teaching science to my students.

So, I decided to try using interactive notebooks while teaching living and nonliving things. My kids were so excited when I brought out the different pages for them to work on. I mean, what 2nd grader doesn't like to glue and cut? The kids love to take their interactive notebooks home and color the pages. It also gives my students the chance to show off their work to their parents. It also made teaching science more interesting for me!

My kiddos worked hard on these pages of the Living Things Interactive Notebook.  They loved it and so did I!

My Force and Motion Interactive Notebook is also on sale for the next three days.

Thanks for stopping by and saying hi.  Don't forget to come back tomorrow for another great dollar deal!

Math Task Cards

Hi everyone! I'm Rachel from 2nd Grade Rock Stars. Today I am bringing you some great dollar deals!

I love using task cards in the classroom. They are so versatile and can be used as centers, small groups, or my favorite as Scoot games. Not only do I love task cards, but so do my kids.

I have to tell you that math task cards have saved my life! I use them as Scoot games and in small groups. I also use them if my advanced learners finish a task early. My students know they can grab a set of task cards.

I am putting a bunch of math task cards on sale for $1 for the next three days.

You can check out some other math task cards here. I will be putting some of my other math task cards on for $1 as well. Thanks for stopping by and saying hi, Rachel

Scary Math Games

Hi everyone! This is Rachel from 2nd Grade Rock Stars. Welcome back to Teacher Deals and Dollar Steals.  I hope everyone is back into the swing of things and you are having a great school year.  I can't believe that it is mid October!

I don't know about you, but my school REALLY CELEBRATES October 31st!  I know not everyone celebrates Halloween but my school goes all out, including a huge Halloween party on a Saturday.

These math games can be played throughout the year and will help your kiddos reinforce their math skills. When ever I pull out these games, my kids scream!  They just love the friendly ghosts or spooky characters.

For the next 3 days (October 16th through the 19th) I am putting my spooky, scary math games on sale for ONLY $1!

First up are the Spooky Addition and Spooky Multiplication Scoot game. My kids love scooting around the room while practicing their addition or multiplication facts. What kid does not love getting up out of their seat??

Have your kids practice their multiplication facts by matching the equations with the haunted house.

My kids also love the ghosts in these two next games.

But grab them fast because they are only on sale through October 19th! After that, the games will go back to regular price.

 What are you waiting for??

Thanks for stopping by and saying hi,
Rachel

Build the Biggest Ice Cream Cone Math Games

Hi everyone! I'm Rachel from 2nd Grade Rock Stars. I Hope everyone is having a relaxing beginning of the summer, or if you are like me...a relaxing (HA HA) end of the school year. I still have 10 days left until school ends here in New York.

Today I want to share 4 different math games that will be $1 for the next 3 days. I don't know about your kids, but my kids love playing math games and competing against each other. So with the summer in mind I am bring you 4 different math games with an ice cream theme.

My kiddos love my Build the Biggest Ice Cream Cone games. The objective of each game is to build the biggest ice cream cone. For each correct answer, the children get to add the scoop of ice cream to their cone. The biggest ice cream cone at the end of the game wins!

My second graders love picking up the ice cream cones and comparing heights of the ice cream cones. I learned quickly how upset they would get if the ice cream cone and scoops of ice cream fell apart, so I attached velcro to the ice cream scoops and cones.

Thanks for stopping by and saying hi.  Don't forget to come back tomorrow for another great dollar deal!

Science Interactive Notebook

Hi everyone! I'm Rachel from 2nd Grade Rock Stars.  I am super excited to be part of Teacher Deals and Dollar Steals and to bring you this fantastic dollar deal!

There are only 31 more days of school for me (I'm so jealous of those of you who are closer to the end of the school year!)and my kids were starting to get a glazed look in their eyes during science, which is so not my favorite subject.  You know that look...the glazed over, this is so boring look you get from your kids somedays.

So, I decided to try introduce interactive notebooks into my living and nonliving science unit. My kids were so excited when I brought out the different pages for them to work on. I mean, what 2nd grader doesn't like to glue and cut? The kids love to take their interactive notebooks home and color the pages. It also gives my students the chance to show off their work to their parents.
