Get Outside!

Hey y'all! It's Aimee from Taking on Second again! I am totally loving this warm weather we have been having in southern Indiana. It has been amazing! I've taken the Jeep tops off a lot after school for my drive home! I also have been letting my kiddos "earn" extra recesses more often. Next week, we are going to start taking our science outside!
We will be heading outside to see how well our senses react in the Spring. I can't wait to just go outside and relax, listen to the birds, smell the spring time smells, see the beautiful flowers...I just love Spring!
There is a page like the ones above for each sense. I am going to put these all together into a book for the students. The first page of the book will brainstorm how we use our senses outside. We will discuss what types of things happen in the Spring and what the weather is like. The final page will be a a summary of what Spring is like to them. All the senses will be in the middle!
This is on sale for the next three days, you guessed it, in my {TPT Store}! It's only $1.00!
Get outside and start enjoying Spring!

A Deal and a Steal for Spring!

I'm excited to have a $1 deal and a steal for you!  The dollar deal is this super cute set of ELA stations for Spring & Summer.

Click the image below to go grab them up!

Grab up this fun game below for free.  It is a fun way to practice nonsense words and great to have on hand if you use DIBELS testing in your school.

This game is designed to be fun and easy to use!  Cut, laminate and place the cards in a bucket.  During small groups, students pull one of the cards.  If they can read the nonsense word, they can keep the card.  If they can’t, they place the card back in the bucket.  There are “Bucket Dump” cards included.  If the students pull one of these cards, they have to dump all of their cards back in the bucket!  This should be a fact paced game so you can practice as many nonsense words as possible!

Head on over to my TpT store to grab up these deals!

Spring into Literacy {Keri from Enchanted Kinder Garden}

Hey friends!!!!!

Am I the only person counting down the days until the end of school? Today's my last day of spring break... however, it ended yesterday because I had to work at our Strawberry Festival this morning. It's always good to see kids outside of school and with their families. It makes me even more excited to know that summer is near!

With that being said, tomorrow we are going to be using EVEN more of my Spring has Sprung Math and Literacy resource during our Daily 5 word work and with our math workshops. For that reason alone, I've decided to make my dollar deal this month all about that literacy!!!

So far, my kids are LOVING the cvc and cvce puzzles. The simply match up the pictures/letters to form a word. They can record the words that they made on an optional recording sheet.

Write the room is always another favorite. We actually started calling this one WRECK the room instead. I absolutely love it since I've gotten tired of hearing the other. All of the words are spring themed. This is also GREAT to us when they are writing. My kiddos are able to roam the room any time throughout our day. They use these words during write to self and their writing workshop.

Switch 'N Fix is my favorite game that they played before spring break. They read/look at the picture. Read the word and have to figure out which letter is incorrect. On the recording sheet, they color in B, M, or E and then write the correct letter. Of course, this wasn't good enough for my kids. They asked if they could just write the entire correct word. OF COURSE.

We have word family mats to write word families. Laminate and then use with a dry erase marker OR slide into a page protector.

Also included in this set is resources to work on syllables, write on/wipe off cards for spelling practice, and digraphs.

For the next THREE days, this resource is MARKED DOWN $4. Get it for ONLY one dollar. Don't forget to pin it, share it on fb, and tell a few kindergarten or first grade teachers! Don't forget, I'm here on the 12th of EVERY month with a great dollar deal for you!

Spring Read and Write (Close Reading)

Spring is finally here! I am ready for some warmer weather. I don't think I could survive living in the north. I don't know how some of you do it!

Here is a Spring Read and Write to help get you warmed up! These "Read and Writes" are great for introducing close reading. The students have to look back in the story to find the correct answer to complete the sentence correctly.

This Read and Write pack will help prepare your students with the reading comprehension skills they need. The short story in this packet is great for introducing close reading. Your kindergarten students should be ready for this resource by this time of the school year if they are meeting grade level expectations. If your students are still struggling, these short stories can be used for quick read alouds and then completing the sentences together. It makes great independent reading work for first graders.

Spring Read and Write

This product is AVAILABLE in a Read and Write Bundle
offering a SAVINGS of 12%.

In this three page Spring Read and Write pack, students will read the one page spring story and color the pictures. Then there are two pages with five sentences on each page about the story. Each sentence has a missing word. At the end of each sentence, there are two words for students to choose the correct missing word. Students will circle the word that correctly completes the sentence matching the story on the first page, and then write the correct word in the blank.

This is a great reading and comprehension check for guided reading, a mini lesson, a literacy center, or homework.

This short story is great for guided reading groups, homework, literacy center activities, independent reading, or for introducing close reading strategies.
I hope your students enjoy this story and fill in the blank sentences.

This Spring Read and Write is available for
ONLY $1.00 for 3 days!
Tuesday, March 24th
Wednesday, March 25th &
Thursday, March 26th

I hope your students ENJOY this Spring Read and Write Pack.

Spring Multiplication Printables {with The Primary Gal}

Hey there!  It's Amanda from The Primary Gal.  Lately, I've been running like 4,000 miles an hour.  I think it's the time of year.  You are either busy prepping for standardized testing or you are planning for end of year events.  And let me tell ya, it is EXHAUSTING! Because of that, I'm not going to lie...my products right now are being created to easy MY load.  My hope is that as I easy my stress load a little, you can find some use in your classroom as well.

During my centers each day, I have a math computation center.  This center is designed to target students who need continual, spiral review.  We all know the kids that I'm talking about.  You introduce a skill, they kick butt at it, and a month later they act as if they have NEVER completed that type of problem.  This year, that is half of my class.  So at my computation center, I typically have task cards or some type of worksheet to help them practice.  Unfortunately, they were getting bored.  Ouch!  That hurts admitting it.  But it's true.  They. Were. Bored.  So, I am working to improve this center through seasonal printables.  And so far, mission accomplished.

My kids love the opportunity to get a chance to cut and paste various answers to problems or even use a spinner to create their own problems.  Meanwhile, I am in love with the fact that they are no longer avoiding this center like the plague AND they are getting critical practice on basic skills right before testing.  Win, win!

I'd love for you to check these printables out while they are on sale for only $1.00!!! Also be sure to check back for more spring printables in division, decimals, and fractions.  :)

It's SPRING (in Florida at least!!)

Hey everyone! It's Elyse from A is for Apples and I'm writing this post to you ONE day away from spring break!!! I'm not going to lie and tell you I'm all planned and ready for when we return from break...because I'm not!!! (I'm already mentally on spring break, laying out in the Florida sunshine, which is why this post is going to be short and sweet!)
However, I've created a few new spring packs that will be a huge help when we go back to school!

{Click on the cover image.}
My Read-Trace-Write-Glue sentences are one of my favorite things in my store!! They are so simple, yet so efficient! Students have to read and trace the sentence. They have to write it and then cut out the words and glue the sentence in order.

Ok, I actually do have these copied and ready to go for morning work when we return!!
Yay, 1 thing planned!!!

{Click on the cover image.}
These tree map graphic organizers will be on the top of my list to use when we get back after break! This pack includes anchor chart cards and graphic organizers for all kinds of spring topics! I love using these to have my students plan their writing. It's so fun to see how far they've come with their writing skills!!

Grab these 2 spring time deals for just $1 each right NOW!!
THIS weekend ONLY!!!

Don't forget!! My Spring Write the Room is always a steal at $1!

{Click on the cover image.}
20 spring pictures and 3 differentiated recording pages. I must print and laminate this before I go on break because this girl is not working over spring break! (Except for creating new products and updating some really old ones!!)

P.S. I do apologize if I have offended you by: a) talking about the spring weather already happening here in Florida and b) talking about how I'm about to be on spring break!!!! Sorry, not sorry?? Isn't that what they all say nowadays?!
