Show off your Shape Attributes with a Shape Friend

I love teaching geometry, partially because it's a break from triple-digit addition and subtraction, but because it's fun!  And seriously, we're all about fun in 2nd grade!!!  Are these little shape friends just the cutest?!?!
It's Kristen from Easy Teaching Tools and I want to share these little cuties with you.  Help your students show off their shape attributes knowledge as they make these friends.  Then, have them write about the attributes they used to check for understating, and hang up.  Easy peasy!  I can tell you that your kiddos will go nuts over these. The best part, it took little-to-no instruction or prep. on my part because they were so dang excited to create!

I just laid out the pieces on the carpet and they grabbed what they needed!

Before students officially wrote about their new friend, they presented their friend to the class and wrote a "rough draft" that the rest of the class checked for accuracy.

I think using bright paper makes these even more adorable, don't you?
