Back to School All About Me Writing Journal

In just a few weeks many of us will be back in the classroom. Would you like some stress free writing plans? This low prep resource will help you learn about your students in more ways than one! Second through fifth graders will be engaged in writing about themselves and you will have an authentic formative writing sample!

I love paper bag books.  This is a project you could easily prep in the next few weeks.  It is sure to be a keepsake for students and parents!

I used 4 paper bags to prep my writing journals.  Instructions for assembly are included.  If you do not use all of the prompts, you could use three bags.  The bags can be stapled or hole punched and tied with a ribbon.  It is simple to add washi tape or ribbon binding.

Two options are included for the covers and both come in color or black and white.

There are also two options for the writing prompts.  The second option has wider lines and simplified prompts, making it super easy to meet the need of every student in your classroom.

Here is an example of the first page.

Included are mini posters you can use in small group on project on your whiteboard.  They are perfect for reviewing writing skills prior to assigning the prompt, or later as a review.

Additional sheets are included for extended written responses or to create your own writing prompt.

You can grab this teacher deal for $1.00 for the next three days!  Find it {HERE}. Enjoy the rest of your summer!
