Celebrating Differences with Elmer!

Hi friends!
It's Sarah from A Sunny Day in First Grade!

I'm super excited to be a part of this group bringing you Teacher Deals and Dollar Steals!!
Today's dollar steal is one of my most popular packs!

Elmer by David McKee is my all time FAVORITE book!
We spend a lot of time talking about the things that make us special at the beginning of the year.
Elmer is the perfect story to teach that it's okay to be different.

After reading the story and talking about what makes each of us special and different, we make our own Elmers!

This pack includes Elmer with his patches and Elmer without patches so you can choose which one you'd like to use.  I usually let my kiddos decide...because it's OKAY to be different! :)

Then we write about what makes us special.
There are a couple options of writing paper included.

I always love how they come out!!!

This pack also includes a set of color word crayons in two sizes.
You can hang them in your room, make a little book with them...it's up to you!

I included a few pages to go along with the story.
Here's an example of one to practice color words!

My always kids LOVE this I Have, Who Has game with short e words!

Elmer can be used at the beginning of the year or as a reminder later on! :)
I promise your kids will love him!!!

I even have a little Elmer stuffed animal to remind my kiddos to celebrate our differences!

You can grab it for only $1 for the next 3 days!!!
You can check out Elmer {here!!}

Stop by my blog to check out our milk carton Elmers! :)

Thanks for stopping by!
Sarah

  1. Your Elmer projects turned out really cute Sarah! When I taught first grade, we used torn paper for our projects, but it took so much time and made a huge mess. Thanks for offering this great deal on such a super back to school item!
