Did your students write to Santa? My students loved writing to Santa and some of the letters were absolutely priceless. We used the Dear Santa...Letter Writing Unit that you can find in my store. Did you grab this cutie? It's on sale right now!!!
Since my kids liked writing to Santa sooo much...I thought I would create a second letter writing unit!! AND we are going to write to the PRESIDENT of the USA!!!
This is so exciting since President's Day is just around the corner!! And this is just another opportunity to hone our letter writing skills and really set the writing wheels in motion.
Here is a peak at what is inside...
I use a lot of the pages for whole group lessons or "anchor charts for your Smartboard." You can practice the parts of a letter, proofread the letters to the President and even review how to address an envelope.
Take a look at some of the activity sheets that you will use with your students. There are sheets to label the parts of a letter, proofread letters from other students, and graphic organizers to brainstorm!
Brainstormers!! The President will be so PROUD!!
Now for the first draft, the second draft, and last, the final draft! You never know, your students could be writing for the President one day!!
There are even papers for those who are older students!
And of course, you have to know how to address an envelope, right?
And included are some words your students, will definitely want to know how to spell!
