WOW!  Thanks goodness Christmas Break is finally here!

I am always looking for ways to get my first graders to learn sight words.  It's just so important for them to know.  This year as a Christmas gift to my sweeties I whipped up this winter sight word coloring book.  It made a really cute gift but it would be great to use in January too:)

Sight Word Fun- Pancake Flip Game

Hi Everyone,

If your kids are like mine, then any extra practice reading and writing sight words is always in order.

Here is a fun game where the kids use a real spatula to scoop up a pancake.  They read the word on the pancake, write the word on the recording sheet, then flip the pancake onto a plate.

This is perfect for pajama day or as a center activity.  You can put all the pancakes out at once, or add them to the center as you introduce the words to your class.

This activity covers Fry's 100 word list and supports your Common Core Curriculum in a fun way.
