Loving Prefixes & Suffixes!

Hey y'all!  It's Debbi from 3rd Grade Pad again!

One of standards to cover this nine weeks is AFFIXES!  I really struggled on the right way to create some task cards for this one.  Something I can use in a variety of ways.  So, this is what I came up with!

The first set of task cards includes 24 task cards for prefixes. If you have any of my task cards, you know I really try to do something different with the Answer Documents!  If so, I don't think this one will disappoint! You have two choices to differentiate in your classroom.  

You've got the usual blank document.  Your second document has a prompt of 4 prefixes.  Your students will circle one and write the new word in the box.  You'll be getting an equally sweet set of Black & White cards for my fans of having a print friendly version.  I like being able to make multiple copies for each of my table clusters!  Have you even done that?

The second set of task cards is set up like the second...but with suffixes!

Finally, I have included TWO BONUS answer documents to combine the two sets for mixed practice. 

The task cards are different enough that you won't have trouble sorting them back to their original set, but they are similar enough to work together.  

So....you really have the chance to use this set 4 times!

Winter Blows in with Snow Many Deals!

Prepping for Winter Deals!

Fraction Frenzy

Deal #1 is one of two fraction task cards I've put together for some winter practice.  Fractions and Number Lines are always a little tricky for my kids, so I put together this set.  My kids can practice naming a location on a number line as well at partitioning a number line to represent fractions in halves, thirds, fourths, sixths, and eighths.  I've sweetened this set up by providing it in full color and in black and white!  You can grab this deal, if you haven't gotten it already, for 50% off in my TPT store.  Click HERE to jump over.

Freezing Fractions

Poppin' Good Time

I don't know about you, but my kids need tons of practice with Elapsed Time!  I like to front-load the topic in mini-lessons in my small groups and put cards on the  Document Camera as morning work.  By the time we GET there, it's not such a huge task.  Especially near the end of the year when kids start to get a little wacky with Spring Fever!  So I'm passing this along to you as a $1 Deal so you can prep for the New Year!

I Love Math Games!

Hi Everyone it's Emily from Emmy Mac's Class! 

The snow coming down right now is really pretty. I'm only saying that because I'm inside and I don't live in Buffalo. We are expecting about 15 cm, so about 6 inches. 

This month's Dollar Steal is my Fraction Slap it! If you are looking for a fun and active way for students to practice naming fractions. Then this is your game!

Kim from Splish! Splash! Mrs Lander's Class was super sweet for letting me use her pictures. Kim used my Dollar Steal in her classroom last year and the kids had so much fun. 

What I love about math games is that students can play them independently, which frees me up to work with small groups!
