Giving Thanks for Teaching Resources!

Hi there and Happy Thanksgiving! I'm Shelly Rees, from Appletastic Learning! There are some things a teacher just cannot live without. Yes, chocolate might be one of them, but I'm specifically referring to teaching resources. It may be a poster packet, an interactive notebook, or a data-tracking system. I'd like to share that one special resource that I am SO thankful to have as a teacher. It is also my DOLLAR DEAL until November 20th!

My Fifth Grade Common Core Math Packets are incredibly helpful to me in several ways. Without these packets, I seriously would have trouble preparing my students for state assessments and making sure every student has mastered each standard as we move through the year.

Each packet is designed for a quick check of student mastery for the specific standard to which it is aligned. You can use the sheets as classwork, homework, in centers, or even quickly cut the boxes apart and use as exit tickets!

Here is a preview of what is included:

I am so thankful to have these resources in my classroom, that I am sharing ALL 34 PACKETS at $1 EACH until November 20th. That's not just one dollar deal; it's 34 sweet dollar deals! You will not see a cheaper price;
this is 50% off the normal price.

Don't forget to Follow Me to get 50% off all new products!
Now, to find an excellent Dollar Deal for the Primary Grades, here is
Jen, from Sparkling in Second:

Hey!
Jen here from Sparkling in Second!
I'm excited to share my dollar deal this month, it's something I'm very THANKFUL for in my classroom, my Monthly ABC Order Pack.
Monthly ABC order
I love this product because:
1. It's easy to use (little prep work, just print and copy)
2. It works on a tough skill, ABC order
3. It's seasonal fun (there is a page for every month of the year)
Monthly ABC Order
I put an alphabet on the bottom to help guide those little learners who are thinking WAY too hard about the order of things.
My students love these! I use them during our Word Work time for Daily 5 or for sub days when I know they can't get much done ;)

These will be $1 through the 20th! Happy Thanksgiving!

Math Task Cards

Hi everyone! I'm Rachel from 2nd Grade Rock Stars. Today I am bringing you some great dollar deals!

I love using task cards in the classroom. They are so versatile and can be used as centers, small groups, or my favorite as Scoot games. Not only do I love task cards, but so do my kids.

I have to tell you that math task cards have saved my life! I use them as Scoot games and in small groups. I also use them if my advanced learners finish a task early. My students know they can grab a set of task cards.

I am putting a bunch of math task cards on sale for $1 for the next three days.

You can check out some other math task cards here. I will be putting some of my other math task cards on for $1 as well. Thanks for stopping by and saying hi, Rachel

Let's Make a Pilgrim!

Hi everyone!  It's Cheryl Irick from KinderIrick and I'm bringing you my favorite Thanksgiving activity- making pilgrims!

Each year my kids do a Thanksgiving Play for our parents.  We learn all about the Mayflower, the pilgrims that came over, and the Wampanoag Indians that were already living here.  We make pumpkin bread for our parents to feast on after the performance and we churn our own butter to go along with it.  We thank the Indians for giving us the pumpkins for the bread and we learn how hard it was to make your own food by churning the butter.

One of the things that I like to have displayed on the bulletin board in the classroom is this cute little Pilgrim activity.  We make the pilgrims and then write about chores the pilgrims had to do long ago and the chores that we have to do today.  It's great for the kids to compare their live now to those kids living long ago and it covers an important social studies standard.  Parents love to read what the kids write about their chores.

I'm offering this to you for only $1 for the next few days.  It comes with all the patterns to make the pilgrim boys and girls as well as some finger plays and songs to supplement your curriculum.

Happy Thanksgiving Everyone!

Book Reports for Young Readers and Writers

Well, I’m sure the school year is off and running for all of us by now and that means that we are busy, busy, BUSY!  I’m teaching Transitional Kindergarten this year so I’m off on a new adventure.  Luckily my family is taking up the slack at home.  It's not uncommon for me to walk in the door to dinner on the table- yes, I'm a lucky gal!

Last year I had some fabulous readers in my kindergarten class so I came up with a fun way for them to share about the books they were reading.  BOOK REPORTS!

These also worked great for the kiddos who were still having books read to them.  I know that I didn't invent book reports, but I did make them easy for Kindergartners and First Graders to complete.

Look at all the Common Core Standards that are covered!

The book reports are for both fiction and non-fiction texts.  Kids can draw pictures or answer with words, whatever works best for them.  These are designed for younger kids, but if you think that your older kids could benefit from them, then by all means, give them a try.  They are only $1, so it’s worth the gamble.

There is also a sheet for an Author Study and one for Sequencing.  These work great incorporated into your units of study.

And if you are looking for something that’s FREE- look no further!  I have cute labels that I use in my centers to help kids choose an activity.  They can choose to work alone, with a partner, or with a small group and they can tell just by looking at the label on the bin, what kind of activity it is.

These labels have simplified my life.  The classroom runs much more smoothly and the kids function much more independently.  Click here to grab the labels and give them a try.

Wishing all my fellow teachers out there a great school year.
Happy September!

Build the Biggest Ice Cream Cone Math Games

Hi everyone! I'm Rachel from 2nd Grade Rock Stars. I Hope everyone is having a relaxing beginning of the summer, or if you are like me...a relaxing (HA HA) end of the school year. I still have 10 days left until school ends here in New York.

Today I want to share 4 different math games that will be $1 for the next 3 days. I don't know about your kids, but my kids love playing math games and competing against each other. So with the summer in mind I am bring you 4 different math games with an ice cream theme.

My kiddos love my Build the Biggest Ice Cream Cone games. The objective of each game is to build the biggest ice cream cone. For each correct answer, the children get to add the scoop of ice cream to their cone. The biggest ice cream cone at the end of the game wins!

My second graders love picking up the ice cream cones and comparing heights of the ice cream cones. I learned quickly how upset they would get if the ice cream cone and scoops of ice cream fell apart, so I attached velcro to the ice cream scoops and cones.

Thanks for stopping by and saying hi.  Don't forget to come back tomorrow for another great dollar deal!
