Super Spelling Activities from Lucky Little Learners

Hey friends!  It's Angie from Lucky Little Learners and I'm back to bring you another dollar deal!  I don't know about you but I am not a huge fan of our spelling curriculum and the worksheets drive me crazy!  The kids don't like doing them and the quality of practice that they are receiving is low.  I knew I had to do something to help supplement.  Then I created my Super Spelling Practice Activities.  There are over 30 engaging ways to practice spelling words and it works with any list! 

Here are just a couple of activities that my students enjoy.  Write your Spelling Words is a simple, no prep way for you to get your kids to work on their words.  My students love it simply for the fact that they get to write with a marker and pen!  Whatever works, right?

 I also have several different versions of Roll and Spell.  This version is my Rainbow Spelling activity.  The student chooses a word for their list, rolls the dice, and then writes their word with the color that it states.  Again, my students love to use their markers so it's motivating.  Quick tip, if you don't already own these foam dice like you see in the picture, they are a must.  They are quiet and a lot less distracting.

Spelling Word Tic Tac Toe with QR Codes

Hey guys! It's Aimee from {Taking on Second}! I want to tell you about my {Spelling Word Tic Tac Toe pack}! It has been my best seller since day 1, and now it will be your turn to get it for only $1.00 until November 21st! My students love QR Codes. 

QR Codes are those square pictures that sometimes look like a maze, that are everywhere, that you can use your smart phone or device to scan. It usually takes you to the product website. 

Using them keeps my students engaged and active. They love scanning the code to see what they get. It reminds me of a scratch off Lotto ticket! ha!

The first activity I use is with Tic Tac Toe. Each week students have to do three in a row for Daily 5 time. Students can use an IPod/IPad to scan the QR code.

 Each board contains:
-Write Spelling words 5 times each.
-Rainbow Write each spelling word.
-Use a dry erase board to “order” your spelling words.
-Write your spelling words with all CAPITAL LETTERS.
-Write your word using Scrabble tiles. See how much your word is worth!
-Use magnet letters to write your spelling words.
- 2 Free spaces! Pick another activity from the word work cards!
-Write each spelling word in a sentence.
Each board has the QR codes in a different order. There are 5 different boards.

Busy Bee Spelling Contract

Hi guys! It's Aimee from Taking on Second. If you didn't recognize me, it is because I got a new look this past week!

Anyways, I wanted to tell you about my Busy Bee Spelling Pack. It is a weekly spelling contract for homework or I have used it for Daily 5 word work as well! 

Students have a menu of spelling activities that they can do to earn points. Students need to have twenty points by (in my classroom) Friday.  There are three categories of points students may choose from, 5 point activities, 10 point activities, and 15 point activities. 

All of the activities are things that can be done in a regular notebook, but of course this pack comes with several matching bee pages! The ones included are

-Syllable Divide

- Left hand/right hand writing
